S15 Sukhumvit Hotel
217 Sukhumvit Road Soi 15, Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand

book

Quality boutique hotel

S15 Sukhumvit is a mid-sized hotel in a great location. It has a strong design theme based around the colors black and white. This theme would seem slightly pretentious if it wasn’t backed up with excellent service and good amenities. Rooms at S15 Sukhumvit start at $100. It isn’t cheap but this hotel stands out head and shoulders above its rivals in the area both in terms of comfort and customer service.

S15 Sukhumvit is so named because it is located on Soi 15. It is just a few minutes walk to Nana BTS, Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT (subway). Moreover, the new shopping mall Terminal 21 is nearby as well as the myriad restaurants, bars, night clubs and massage parlors around Nana Entertainment Plaza and Soi Cowboy. Soi 15 is not in the heart of the action, but it is close enough to make it convenient. The staff are always curteous and use their discretion when it comes to 'visitors'.

Many hotels make cursory attempts to be boutique in order to attract a certain type of wealthy traveler. S15 Sukhumvit takes its boutique status seriously. It has limited its rooms to just 72. This means even the ‘standard’ rooms are spacious. There is a strong attention to detail. The furniture has a strong design element. The colours are primarily black and white with a smattering of grey. This color scheme might feel too ‘cold’ for some, but the overall affect is of an uncluttered stylish design vision.

The rooms all have 32 inch flat screen TVs with DVD player (except the Business Suite). They also have mini bars with complimentary drinking water, coffee and tea. The rooms have free wi-fi internet, safety box, bath and international adaptor.

Rather than having numerous room types like other luxury hotels S15 Sukhumvit has just 4 accommodation options. The Deluxe Room has 30 square meters of living space. The Junior Suite has 35 square meters of space. The Jacuzzi Suite is also 35 square meters but also features a Jacuzzi. The Business Suite has a 42 inch television and a stereo system. The 50 square meters are partitioned. On the one side is a work area with a large desk, on the other is an L-shaped sofa and bed.

The hotel has a restaurant, a bar, disabled facilities, a fitness center, car park for 60 cars, free wi-fi in rooms and in public areas, a spa, a sauna and a business center. The only notable omission is a swimming pool. This probably makes S15 Sukhumvit less appealing to families. Nevertheless, the style, great reviews and location of S15 makes this hotel our recommendation for this part of Sukhumvit.
