Soi 24 to 50 Guide

The attractions in this area are a bit spread out, but don't let that put you off as there is plenty going on in this part of town. The Emporium Shopping Centre on the corner of the Sukhumvit Road and Soi 24 is well worth a visit. The lower floors feature top designer brands like Louis Vuitton, the upper floors have more reasonably priced shops and book stores. Shopping wise K-Village on Soi 26 is also a good bet. This is what is known locally as a 'Lifestyle Mall' with shops, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, spas and fashion stores. K-Village is more an afternoon out rather than simply a shopping trip.

Kids will enjoy the Museum of Science and Planetarium on the Sukhumvit Road between Soi 40 and 42. There are loads of good food options in this area as well. For cheap authentic Thai food head up to the Soi 38 Food Market, opposite the entrance to the Thonglor Skytrain station. There are lots of stalls but we recommend Khao na bpet (duck on rice) and phad see-ew (stir fried noodles). For more formal dining go farther down Soi 38 to Face, which is three restaurants in one location: Indian, Thai and Japanese. The Thai restaurant is set in a Lanna-style teak house and is a particular favourite for tourists.
